SAN ANTONIO — The St. Mary's University Women's Soccer Team had a trio of student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team it was announced on Tuesday.
Seniors
Nayeli Celedon,
Natalie Gonzalez and
Laura Poole all earned spots on the prestigious team that evaluates a player's contributions on and off the field. To qualify, a player must have played at least one year at their current institution, maintain a 3.50 GPA, and be a starter or key reserve player.
Celedon (Del Rio, Texas), majoring in exercise and sport science, played in 57 games throughout her career, including 19 this season, starting in 30. The defender scored two goals in her four years – both of which were game-winners – and she added an assist.
Gonzalez, working on her master's in business administration after graduating in the spring, saw action in 35 games over two years with the Rattlers. The El Paso, Texas native, tallied six goals with one assist in the two seasons after scoring twice with five assists in her three years at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.Â
Poole is concluding a degree in management after playing in 52 games throughout her career. The senior from Allen, Texas, started all 19 games in 2024, anchoring the back line for the Rattlers. She recorded one assist and had one shot on goal in her final campaign.
