Rocket League Looks to Become First Esports Team to go Undefeated in Regular Season

SAN ANTONIO — The St. Mary's University Esports Rocket League team continued its flawless regular season with an incredible 4-0 win over Dominican (N.Y.) on Wednesday, Nov. 6, improving to 6-0 overall with one week remaining on the regular season calendar.
 
The Rocket League team set the tone against the Chargers, scoring five goals in the first match to win the round, 5-2. The energy continued through the next three rounds, as they kept Dominican off the scoreboard in all three. Freshman Xander Castillo (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was the match MVP, scoring seven goals throughout the entire night.
 
The Rocket League team is looking to become the first Esports program at St. Mary's to go undefeated during the regular season. The team is managed by Elizabeth Moralez, and they will compete for the final time during the regular season on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Penn State Behrend. The contest will be broadcast on the department's twitch.tv.
