HOT SPRINGS, Ark. —
Baptiste Touchard kept up the solid start to the season, placing third at the Battle for the Belt and helping St. Mary's University Men's Golf finish fifth in the first tournament of the fall.
Touchard, a junior from Saint-Agathon, France finished the tournament four-under-par at 212 (65-72-75), three shots off the leaders Elliot Han Monteremal from Rogers State and Tobey Kim from Arkansas Tech, who ended at 209 strokes.
Henderson State, hosts of the tournament, won the field at 10-under-par, defeating Southern Arkansas by nine strokes. The Reddies 'B' team was third, while Arkansas Tech finished fourth.
After bogeying the first hole of the morning, sophomore transfer
Kongpop Kaikaew (Rayong, Thailand) buckled down, posting three birdies and 13 pars to help him end the final round with a 72 and finish in a six-way tie for 20th at 218 (75-71-72).
In his first collegiate tournament, freshman
Elijah Galvan (Austin, Texas) entered the clubhouse with a 76 in the final round for 26th place overall. He finished one stroke behind Kaikaew at 219 (70-73-76).
Sophomore Philip Hallström (Gävle, Sweden) struggled in the third round, scoring a 79 for a 54-hole total of 223 (73-71-79) on the par-72 Hot Springs Country Club course. Junior
Oscar Sandberg (Enkoping, Sweden) matched his first-round total with an 82 on Tuesday, ending the tournament in 67th place (82-75-82=239).
The Rattlers will compete next week at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite, hosted annually by West Texas A&M at the Amarillo Country Club.Â
