Men's Tennis Continues Strong Play at Trinity Invitational

SAN ANTONIO — Playing opponents from every other division in college athletics, the St. Mary's University Men's Tennis team had some solid results at the Trinity Fall Invitational.
 
The Rattlers had finalists in three of the six singles flights, while the tandem of San Antonio athletes Jake Faryniarz and Graidyn Bowe won flight three in doubles.
 
"There was great work from the guys this weekend," said Assistant Coach Angela Vargas. "On the first day, we battled some mental and physical issues, but we were able to reset for Saturday and play at a higher level. We are seeing some players making a huge improvement and working toward making a statement at regionals."
 
Freshman Leonardo Fabbri (Faenza, Italy), sophomore Ian Freire (Guatemala), and senior Ryan Koth (Boerne, Texas) all reached the finals in their respective flights. All three defeated a player from Division I Incarnate Word en route to the finals.
 
The Rattlers are off until Sept. 28-30 when they head to Lubbock, Texas for the ITA South Central Regional.
