Men's and Women's Tennis Named ITA All-Academic Teams for 12th Straight Year

SAN ANTONIO – For the 12th consecutive season, both the Men's and Women's Tennis teams at St. Mary's University have been awarded the All-Academic Team Award by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, and 22 student-athletes from the two teams have been awarded Scholar-Athlete status.
 
To earn All-Academic, teams must have a combined 3.2 grade point average or above. The Rattlers have earned the honor every season since 2004-05. For Scholar-Athlete, individuals must possess a 3.5 or better GPA for the current academic year.
 
Senior Ashley Penshorn earns the award for the fifth-straight year, while Gabi Ioannou was named to the team all four years. 
 
Sebastian Azcui, Jake Faryniarz, Bailey Godwin, Nicolas Llosa and Elena Munoz are receiving their third honors. Graidyn Bowe, Oskar Irdoja, Ryan Koth, Callah Preti, Yu Senda, Alvaro Soler and Angela Vargas all were tabbed to the team for the second-straight season.
