First Pitch
•   St. Mary's advances to its third-straight Lone Star Conference Championship in its third year of postseason play (the team's first year in the league was cut short due to Covid). This year, the Rattlers travel to Austin to take on #13 St. Edward's in a best-of-three series.
•   Due to graduation ceremonies on the St. Edward's campus, on-campus parking for Saturday's game will be limited to those with disability placards/stickers on their cars. General parking will be at a site off campus, with shuttle buses going from 9:00 a.m. until an hour after the game ends. Admission and parking are free.
•   Jake Mares is in the midst of a 25-game hitting streak, the longest in St. Mary's history since the team joined the Division II ranks. He breaks the 24 game streak by Jesse Gutierrez in 2001.
•   After recording two saves for the second-straight week, senior Andrew Girod leads the Lone Star Conference and ranks 6th nationally with nine saves. His total is also fifth on the StMU single season charts and one shy of tying Jonathan Perez (2013) for fourth. His 10 career saves are fifth, passing Michael Villarreal (2005, 2007-08, 2010) who had nine.
•   In the last 12 games (three series), senior Ryan McGowen is 18-for-35 (.514) with eight multi-hit games. The stretch has raised his batting average to .291 and he is also 4-for-5 in stolen bases during the streak.
•   Freshman Jacob King doubled in all four games last week to give him 15 extra-base hits for the year in 44 total.
