SAN ANTONIO -- On Wednesday,
Clay Bradford and
Andrew Girod were both named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) South Central All-Region Second Team.
Bradford, from Atascocita, Texas, was named as a utility player after ranking in the top five in the Lone Star Conference in batting average, home runs, slugging percentage and total bases. He was named to the Lone Star All-Conference First Team and was twice named the league's Hitter of the Week. He was named to the 2022 D2CCA All-Region team a year ago.
Girod, a San Antonio native led the Lone Star Conference and ranks sixth among all Division II athletes with nine saves. He posted a 3-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio this season and was honored on the Lone Star All-Conference Second Team. Girod led the Rattlers with a 1.09 WHIP and 2.12 ERA.
The Rattlers finished with a 25-27 record and advanced to their third-straight Lone Star Conference Championship.
