NET POINTS
•   After a bye week, the St. Mary's Men's Tennis team returns to action at UAFS on Friday and #18 Cameron on Saturday. It is the final road trip of the 2023 regular season as the Rattlers close out with UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico next week.
•   The win over DBU on March 25 was the first in Lone Star Conference play, snapping a four-match regular season losing streak to league foes, dating back to 2022.
•   St. Mary's is 15-0 all-time against UAFS, including a 4-1 victory in the first round of the 2022 Lone Star Tournament. This will be the second time the teams have played in Fort Smith as 11 of the matches have been on a neutral court.
•   The Rattlers are 3-10 in the series with Cameron. A season ago, the team dropped a close 4-3 decision to the Aggies with both Oskar Irdoja and Alvaro Soler pulling out victories in the third set at #5 and #6, respectively. StMU will be seeking its second win in Lawton as the team is 1-5 all-time.
•   Sophomore Alvaro Soler moved to #53 in the national rankings this week. Soler jumped into the national rankings for the first time on March 8.Â
•   Several Rattlers are climbing the career doubles victories charts in school history. With his two wins to wrap up March, Nicolas Llosa has 40, which moves him into 8th, passing Saisaurav Konakanchi (2017-21) who won 39. Jake Faryniarz is 11th with 33 and Sebastian Azcui is 12th with 28 wins. Jeremiah Sanchez (2016-21) holds the career record with 66 doubles wins.
•   Junior Nicolas Llosa is also seventh on the career singles wins chart with 35, passing Bojan Popovic (2016-20) who had 30, and he needs three more to tie Carlos Olea (2011-14) for sixth. Jeremiah Sanchez owns that record as well with 70 victories. Junior Oskar Irdoja won four in Florida to bring his win total to 27, which moves him to ninth on the chart past Richard Foley (2013-17).
 •   Daniel Matheu Baldor was named the Lone Star Conference Player of the Week after the team's win over Schreiner. It was the first weekly honor of his career.
