RICHARDSON, Texas – On the day before the 2023 Lone Star Conference Championship begins, a quartet of St. Mary's Men's Tennis players were honored on All-Conference and All-Academic teams announced by the league office.

Sophomore
Alvaro Soler (Alicante, Spain) was named to the All-Academic, All-Sportsmanship and the All-Conference First Team. Soler is a Finance & Risk Management major with a 19-6 record this season and a 14-5 mark in dual matches. He has played the number one ladder position for the Rattlers the majority of the spring season and has a 2-0 record against nationally-ranked players.

Junior
Oskar Irdoja (Tallinn, Estonia) also earned a spot on the All-Academic team as well as the honorable mention all-conference squad. Irdoja is working on a degree in psychology with a 15-7 overall record in singles. He is 12-5 in duals playing anywhere from one-through-four for the Rattlers.Â

The doubles tandem of
Jake Faryniarz (San Antonio) and
Nicolas Llosa (Lima, Peru) were placed on the honorable mention doubles team in a vote by the league's head coaches. The two are 11-5 together this season.Â

St. Mary's begins play in the quarterfinals of the Lone Star Championship on Thursday at 8 a.m. against two-seed Cameron.
