NET POINTS

•    St. Mary's begins play at the Lone Star Conference Championship on Thursday at 8 a.m. against second-seeded and 11th-ranked Cameron. The start time has been moved up 30 minutes as the championship looks to get ahead of the inclement weather scheduled.

•    Both sophomore Alvaro Soler and junior Oskar Irdoja were named to the six-player All-Academic team by the Lone Star.

•    In the Lone Star All-Conference teams, Alvaro Soler earned First-Team in singles, Oskar Irdoja was a Second-Team pick in singles and juniors Jake Faryniarz and Nicolas Llosa were tabbed to the honorable mention doubles team. Soler was also named to the All-Sportsmanship team.

•    St. Mary's is 3-11 all-time against Cameron, including a 1-1 mark in neutral site matches. The Rattlers have lost three straight to the Aggies.

•    The Rattlers are 1-1 in the Lone Star Championship. The 2020 tournament was canceled due to the pandemic and Mother Nature ruined the 2021 tournament. Last season, StMU defeated UAFS in the first round before falling to Midwestern State in the semifinals.

•    Sophomore Alvaro Soler dropped to #41 in the national rankings this week, despite winning both matches last week. He is 2-0 this season against nationally-ranked opponents.

•    Several Rattlers are climbing the career doubles victories charts in school history. Nicolas Llosa is now tied for seventh all-time with 42 wins, tying Matt Banner (2012-15). Jake Faryniarz is 11th with 35 and Sebastian Azcui is 12th with 30 wins. Jeremiah Sanchez (2016-21) holds the career record with 66 doubles wins.

•    Junior Nicolas Llosa is also seventh on the career singles wins chart with 37 and he needs one more to tie Carlos Olea (2011-14) for sixth. Junior Oskar Irdoja  also ranks ninth on the list with 28 victories in his second season and Alvaro Soler is in a four-way tie for 12th with 24 wins.

•    The next singles victory for sophomore Alvaro Soler will be the 15th dual win, moving him into a tie for 9th on the school's single-season list.

 •    Daniel Matheu Baldor was named the Lone Star Conference Player of the Week after the team's win over Schreiner. It was the first weekly honor of his career.
