SAN ANTONIO -- One day after earning his first-ever Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Week honor, St. Mary's senior right-handed pitcher
John Curtis was tabbed the NCBWA South Central Region Pitcher of the Week.
Curtis pitched a 10-inning complete game without allowing an earned run to get the win on the road over West Texas A&M. Curtis scattered five hits and struck out five batters in the game originally scheduled for seven innings. The St. Mary's right-hander kept the Buffs off the board over the last four frames of the 4-3 win. It is the third start this season Curtis has not allowed an unearned run.
Curtis and the Rattlers host Eastern New Mexico for the final home series in 2022 beginning on Friday at 6 p.m. Friday's game will be at Nelson Wolff Stadium, while Saturday's doubleheader will take place at UIW's Cardinal Field and Sunday will be at home at Dickson Stadium.
