NET POINTS

•    St. Mary's returns to non-conference action, facing Mississippi College at UT Tyler on Saturday before playing at UT Dallas on Sunday.

•    This week's duals are the first-ever against either opponent. Mississippi College is 5-2 this year with a four-match winning streak. UT Dallas is 2-3 in 2023 with a loss on Sunday to Trinity. The Comets face McMurry and Howard Payne before the Rattlers.

•    Sophomore Alvaro Soler won probably the biggest singles match of his career, defeating Abamu Martins of Lubbock Christian in three sets. Martins is the top-ranked player in the South Central region and ranked #14 nationally. Soler then moved up the ladder to post a straight-sets win at #1 singles over Midwestern State less than 24 hours later. Soler is now 12-2 on the year and 7-1 in duals.

•    The Rattlers are looking to snap a three-match losing streak over the weekend. The team has lost two of three by one point, 4-3.

•    St. Mary's faces eight first-time opponents on the 2023 docket. Jacksonville, Mississippi College, UT Dallas, Eckerd, Bentley, St. Thomas Aquinas and Palm Beach Atlantic are also facing the Rattlers for the first time in school history.

•    Daniel Matheu Baldor was named the Lone Star Conference Player of the Week after the team's win over Schreiner. It was the first weekly honor of his career.

•    At the conclusion of the fall season, junior Nicolas Llosa and senior Sebastian Azcui were ranked ninth in the doubles South Central Region, while Alvaro Soler appeared in the singles rankings at #14 and Ryan Koth was ranked 20th.
