RICHARDSON, Texas -- For the first time in his St. Mary's career, St. Mary's
Clay Bradford has been named the Lone Star Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Bradford, a senior outfielder/pitcher from Atascocita, Texas, batted .545 over five games, including going 6-for-6 (tying the school record for hits in a game) and hitting for the cycle. He had two home runs, a triple, two doubles and eight RBIs. Bradford also scored six runs and stole two bases. On the season, he has reached base safely in all 15 of St. Mary's games.
Against Oklahoma Christian, Bradford also started on the mound in game one and tossed a complete game to fuel a 4-2 win.
Bradford and the Rattlers have the week off from competition, returning to action against Lubbock Christian on March 10 at 6 p.m.
