Opening Tip
• St. Mary's hits the road for rematches against Texas A&M International and Texas A&M Kingsville. The Rattlers lost both games earlier this season, falling by seven to the Dustdevils and six to the Javelinas.
• The Rattlers currently have two players ranked in the top-10 in the Lone Star Conference in free throw percentage as Tyler Caron sits in fifth at 88.5 and Caleb Jordan ranks ninth at 85.9.
• Senior Emmanuel Ewuzie has blocked at least one shot in 10 straight games and already has 33 on the year. That total places him in a tie for ninth on the St. Mary's single season charts with Latez Williams (2007-08) and he is 11 shy of tying the school record.
• With his next basket, senior Caleb Jordan will tie Walt Essex (1968-71) for ninth on the StMU career scoring chart with 1,456 points. Jordan also climbed into second on the career steals chart with 117, passing Lacy Hampton (1994-97).
• Twice this season, the Rattlers have posted top-10 single game free throw performances in school history. At DBU on Jan. 5, the team tied for the eighth-best performance at .929 (13-14) and backed that up at UAFS with a .923 (12-13) night to tie for 10th on the single-game charts.
• Junior Jalon Johnson currently ranks third in the Lone Star statistics in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.4). Eight times this season, Johnson has collected four or more assists in a game.
• Ryan Leonard became the third different Rattler to score 20 or more points in a game this season when he tallied a career-best 23 in the win over UT Permian Basin on Saturday. Leonard joins Tyler Caron and Caleb Jordan in the 20-point scoring club.
• StMU also has two players ranked amongst the top 10 in the Lone Star Conference in offensive rebounds per game as Emmanuel Ewuzie is fourth (3.1) and Mamady Djikine is eighth (2.4).
