Opening Tip
•   St. Mary's squares off with Angelo State on Thursday in a battle of two of the top rebounding teams in the league before hosting UT Permian Basin on Saturday.
•   St. Mary's leads the Lone Star Conference and ranks 28th in the NCAA with 12.93 offensive rebounds per game.Â
•   Returning to the starting lineup last week, senior Ryan Leonard had one of the best week's of his career with 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per game. He also shot over 60 percent from the field in the pair of road wins.
•   Senior Caleb Jordan broke the StMU career record in free throws made and now has 362 after going a perfect 10-for-10 at the line last week. He surpasses the previous record of 356 by Anthony Houston (1986-89). Jordan also moved into the top 10 in scoring with 1422 points, passing Winston Miles' 1414 points (1959-62) and he is now tied for second all-time with 115 steals, tying Lacy Hampton (1994-97).
•   With multiple blocked shots in each of the last five games and in nine games this season, senior Emmanuel Ewuzie has shot from 10th to fourth in St. Mary's history with 82 swats. He is seven blocks away from tying Billy White (2002-05) for third.
•   Twice this season, the Rattlers have posted top-10 single game free throw performances in school history. At DBU on Jan. 5, the team tied for the eighth-best performance at .929 (13-14) and backed that up Thursday at UAFS with a .923 (12-13) night to tie for 10th on the single-game charts.Â
•   The Rattlers are the only team in the Lone Star Conference with two players ranked in the top 10 in offensive rebounds as seniors Emmanuel Ewuzie (4th, 3.3) and Mamady Djikine (7th, 2.5) both appear.
•   Junior Jalon Johnson currently ranks second in the Lone Star statistics in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.45). In the last 112 minutes, Johnson has only one turnover with 14 assists.
