Box Score TYLER, Texas – The St. Mary's Men's Tennis Team dropped a 4-0 decision to top-ranked UT Tyler in the NCAA South Central Regional on Tuesday morning.

The Patriots jumped out to the early 1-0 advantage with a pair of 6-1 victories at No. 1 and 2 doubles and carried the momentum through into singles play, winning the top three ladder positions in straight sets.

Oskar Irdoja (Tallinn, Estonia) forced a third set at No. 5 singles. After losing 6-1 in the first set, he got a late break in the second set to win 7-5 and they were on serve in the third set, 1-0 when the match was called.

Nicolas Llosa (Lima, Peru) won his opening set 6-1 and was headed to a third-set when the match ended.

Sebastian Azcui (La Paz, Bolivia), playing in his first singles match since March 4, dropped the first set 6-2, but was in a 4-4 tie in the second at No. 6.

UT Tyler will move on in the NCAA Championship, along with the St. Mary's Women's Team, which won 4-1 on Saturday against Midwestern State.Â
