Men's Tennis Falters In Final Regular Season Match

Box Score TYLER, Texas – In the final regular season contest of the 2022 season, the St. Mary's Men's Tennis dropped a 5-2 decision at UT Tyler.
 
The Rattlers end the regular season with a 16-5 overall mark and a 4-3 record in Lone Star Conference action to earn the fourth seed into the Lone Star Conference Championship, which begins April 28 at the Arlington Tennis Center. The team will face the five seed in UAFS at 3:30 p.m.
 
The two Spaniards on the roster earned the two points for the Gold & Blue as senior Pablo Munoz Baroja (San Sebastian) won 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3 and freshman Alvaro Soler (Alicante) won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6.
 
The Patriots improved to 6-1 in the league with the win over the Rattlers and earned the second seed at the upcoming championship.
 
For the first time this season, the Rattlers lost all three doubles matches and it was just the fourth time all year the club lost the doubles point.
