First Pitch
•   Friday starts just the second series between UT Tyler and St. Mary's in school history. A season ago, the Rattlers took two of three in Tyler.
•   Junior OF/P Clay Bradford has reached base in 20 straight games - and has won his last two outings on the hill.
•   St. Mary's continues to be one of the best at turning the double play, as the Rattlers lead the Lone Star and rank fourth nationally with 39 DP in 2022. That total is already tied for 10th on the school's single season charts. The record is 52 held by the 2013 team.
•   Senior Jake Mares currently has a nine-game hitting streak and has reached base in 28 of the last 29 games. The shortstop has also had multiple hits in eight of his last nine.
•   The Rattlers are now hitting .288 on the year - the highest average for the team this season - and seventh-best in the Lone Star Conference.
•   After not stealing any bases in his first 63 games as a Rattler, senior Brian Juarez has swiped two in his last three starts.
•   Twelve different Rattlers have stolen at least one base this season, as the team has amassed 61 thefts, which ranks sixth in the Lone Star.Â
•   The Rattlers will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 2001 National Championship at Friday's game - as well as honoring the amazing career of former head coach Charlie Migl.
•   On Sunday, the Rattlers will honor the five departing seniors in Dylan Bells, Anthony Chavez, Adrian Gonzales, Mason Minister and Collin Storms. All five are pitchers as the remainder of the seniors have opted to take advantage of their "Covid" year and return in 2023.
•   The Rattlers have identical home and road records this season and are 8-12 at both, with a 2-0 record on a neutral field.
