FRISCO, Texas – When you have a balanced attack, it's often hard to pinpoint a star so despite earning the fourth-seed at the Lone Star Conference Tournament, the St. Mary's Men's Basketball team only had a pair named to the All-Conference Third Team.
Â
Both senior guard
Kobe Magee (San Antonio) and junior guard
Ryan Leonard (Kerry, Ireland) were named to the team on Wednesday, the league announced at the annual pre-tournament banquet.
Â
Magee leads the team with 11.9 points per game, while Leonard is third at 11.0. Six different Rattlers average 8.7 points or better this year and five players have made more than 20 three-pointers in 2021-22.
Â
Magee's 56 three-pointers rank 10th in school history and he currently ranks 39th in the nation in three-point field goal percentage at 41.5. He also sits fifth in the league with 4.4 assists per game and is ninth in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.8. Leonard currently ranks fifth in the league in steals per game with 1.5 and 11th in blocked shots per game with 0.9.
Â
The Rattlers face Texas A&M Kingsville at 8:30 p.m. on Thurs., March 3 in the quarterfinals of the Lone Star Championship.
