Opening Tip
• Thursday marks the final regular season game of the 2021-22 season for St. Mary's as they host St. Edward's. Both teams have already clinched one of the top 12 spots into the Lone Star Conference Championship.
• The next win for Head Coach Jim Zeleznak will be the 250th in his head basketball coaching career. He ranks third in wins in StMU history, needing 31 for second (Ed Messbarger, 279-139; 1964-78).
• Both seniors Caleb Jordan and Kobe Magee are currently tied for fifth in St. Mary's school history with 127 three-pointers made. Jordan also scored the 1,200th point of his career on Saturday at Texas A&M Commerce.
• In the last six games, StMU has shot 81.4 percent (96-for-118) from the free throw line, raising its average almost 10 percentage points from 73.3. Against OC on Feb. 10, the Rattlers were a perfect 18-for-18 from the charity stripe.
• Thursday will be the 167th meeting in the series between St. Ed's and St. Mary's. It is the most contested series of any in school history. The Rattlers hold a 108-58 lead, including the 93-85 win back on Jan. 25 in Austin.
• The Rattlers have made 10 or more free throws in the last 11 games and have moved into third in the Lone Star Conference in free throw percentage, shooting .757.
• Timmy Benavides, Dylan Isenhower, Caleb Jordan, Noah Laing and Kobe Magee will all be honored before the game for their contributions to the Rattlers program.
