• This will be the sixth-straight meeting between the Rattlers and Central Missouri in Houston, dating back to 2014. StMU is 2-3 in those games, and in both wins the Mules were ranked in the top 20. It will also be the fourth time StMU and Arkansas Tech have met in the Houston Tournament and the Rattlers are 2-1 in those previous meetings.
• St. Mary's has played in eight Houston Winter Invitational's at Minute Maid Park, home of the MLB's Houston Astros.
• Sophomore Devin Goins has an on-base percentage of 100% in the early going, despite not having an official plate appearance. The catcher walked twice and was hit by a pitch once.
• Junior Brian Juarez picked up where he left off in 2021. In the five Lone Star Tournament games, Juarez recorded four of his eight multi-hit games of the season and has reached base safely in all four contests in 2022.
• Senior short stop Jake Mares was named to the NCBWA Preseason All-Region team for the South Central Region. Mares is 45-for-49 in career stolen bases and has scored 96 runs.
