Volleyball Has a Quartet Honored by LSC Coaches

CANYON, Texas – At the Lone Star Conference Pre-Tournament banquet, a quartet of St. Mary's Volleyball players were honored on the All-Conference or All-Academic teams.
 
Sophomore opposite side hitter Alicia Virthe (Orlando, Fla.) earned All-Academic honors. To be honored on the team, student-athletes must possess a minimum GPA of 3.30, have reached sophomore academic eligibility and have completed at least one full academic year at the current institution. 
 
Freshman Landri Withers (Stephenville, Texas) leads the Rattlers in kills with 3.03 per set and 3.51 points per set and third with 1.89 digs per set. She was honored on both the All-Conference Second Team and the All-Freshman team.
 
Fellow freshman Dallasstar Johnson (San Antonio) joined Withers on the All-Freshman team after leading the team with 1.02 blocks per set. She also averages 1.51 kills and 0.28 aces per set. Johnson was also voted to the All-Honorable Mention team by the league's coaches.
 
Joining Johnson on the honorable mention team is sophomore setter Cali Nims (Corpus Christi, Texas). Nims leads the team with 4.84 assists per set and 0.30 aces per set and ranks second on the team with 2.53 digs, despite playing only three rotations.
 
The Rattlers begin play in the Lone Star Conference Tournament on Thursday at Noon against Texas A&M International.
