Opening Tip
•   St. Mary's opens the home portion of the 2022-23 season with a 3:30 tip against Huston-Tillotson. It is the final game in November for the Rattlers.
•   The Rattlers are 55-1 all-time against Huston-Tillotson and have won all 33 contests on their home floor, including a 96-70 victory a season ago. The series began in 1960 and StMU won the first 50 against the Rams until 2000 in Kingsville, a 75-68 win for HTU.
•   In the exhibition game at UTSA on Monday, senior Emmanuel Ewuzie recorded a team-high 14 points and four blocked shots. Ryan Leonard led the team with seven rebounds and added 11 points.
•   The next win for Head Coach Jim Zeleznak will be the 250th in his head basketball coaching career. He ranks third in wins in StMU history, needing 31 for second (Ed Messbarger, 279-139; 1964-78).
•   Mamady Djikine, Parker Gettys, Caleb Jordan and Luke Schultz have all opted in for their fifth year of eligibility granted by the NCAA.
•   Senior Caleb Jordan exploded for a career-best 33 points in the 56-60 loss at Regis. He was 10-16 from the floor and 10-12 from the free throw line. He is now second all-time in StMU history with 321 free throws made and 35 shy of the record of 356 by Anthony Houston (1986-89).
•   St. Mary's made at least three three-pointers in 68 straight games and one or more in 138 consecutive games, dating back to Jan. 14, 2017. This season, the Rattlers are averaging 6.0 triples per game and seven players have sank at least one.
•   Caleb Jordan is three steals shy of 100. Ryan Leonard needs nine rebounds for 100 and the next three-pointer of Jaron Presley's career will be his 50th. Mamady Djikine needs 66 points for 500 and 11 rebounds for 250, while Emmanuel Ewuzie is 10 points shy of 250 and six boards from 350 in his career.
