TAKING THE PITCH
The Rattlers kick off their fall championship season by hosting the Argonauts of the University of West Florida in the first ever meeting between the two programs. The game is scheduled for noon on Sunday afternoon at Sigma Beta Chi Field.
St. Mary's heads into the campaign after a profitable preseason, going 2-1 in their first three tune ups. The Rattlers feature a 19-player recruiting class, the largest in program history. The combination of new talent and experienced veterans result in a hungry Rattlers squad who means business in 2021.
For the Argonauts, they are 1-0 following a win over Texas A&M International on Friday. The Dust Devils pushed West Florida into overtime, but a golden goal from Destiny Hammac would give the Argonauts a 2-1 victory.Â
RATTLER STORYLINES
- Year two of the Kevin Driggs era gets going on Sunday afternoon. After batting to a 5-6 record in the COVID-shortened 2020 season, the Rattlers are ready to spring into conference contention this fall.
