Richardson, Tx – Freshman goalkeeper Rebecca Difronzo has been selected as Goalkeeper of the Week by the Lone Star Conference after an outstanding weekend that saw the Rattlers win both of their games.
Difronzo had a sensational pair of games between the posts for the Rattlers, going 2-0-0 while allowing just one goal in 180 minutes of action. The freshman made 12 saves over the two matches, including five in StMU's 2-1 win over No. 12 Angelo State. Difronzo then made seven saves against Texas Woman's in a 2-0 shutout to close the week. Difronzo has two shutouts in 2021 and ranks third in the LSC with an .882 save percentage in her first collegiate season.
This is Difronzo's first weekly award of her career. She is joined on the weekly release by teammate Megan Copeland who was selected as Defensive Player of the Week.
