TAKING THE PITCH
Coming up this Saturday, September 25th, the St. Mary's Rattlers will be taking off to Denton, Texas to face the Pioneers of Texas Woman's University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Both teams beat their first Lone Star Conference opponents earlier this week, making this match one to watch.
The Rattlers are coming off a rewarding win against two-time Lone Star Conference champion, Angelo State. After a tough defensive battle in the first half on Wednesday, St. Mary's saw Alexis Lawrence fire the game winner into the back of the net to result in a 2-1 victory.
For Texas Woman's, the Pioneers have been adept at gaining early leads in their matches so far. The Pioneers have yet to lose a contest this season and are fresh off a victory against Eastern New Mexico. The Pioneers are building on a successful campaign from last season when they challenged for the LSC title.
