SAN ANTONIO – Rattlers Soccer has announced a partnership with Vs. Cancer, a fundraiser sponsored by the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. The Rattlers embark on a month-long fundraising effort, culminating in the Vs. Cancer Game on October 13th against TAMIU at 6:00 PM at Sigma Beta Chi Field.
"The ability for us to use our platform to give back is incredible and we feel like it is our responsibility to do so," said Head Coach Kevin Driggs. "It's great to put everything into perspective and be able to give back to these kids. The thought that our players can help bring a smile to someone's face who is battling this disease is so rewarding. At the end of the day, we want to make sure these kids feel loved and included. It's humbling to be a part of this and to serve these kids."
The Foundation's mission with the Vs. Cancer Campaign is to empower teams, athletes, and communities to help kids with cancer. The signature fundraiser splits their proceeds between child life programs in local hospitals and national pediatric brain tumor research.
Rattler Soccer has set a goal of $3500 to raise before their game against the Dust Devils. Along with the supporting community and fellow donors, the team hopes to make an impact in the fight against childhood cancer.
