TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association recently announced the 2021 Men's and Women's ITA Scholar Athletes and All-Academic teams and both the St. Mary's Men and Women were honored on the teams, while 19 student-athletes from the Rattlers squads were named Scholar Athletes.
All 11 women on the 2020-21 roster met the minimum requirements of at least a 3.50 for the current academic year, while eight men also made the cut. For the team honor, the combined grade point average of the entire team must be a 3.20 or better.

Abigail Csengery earned her fourth consecutive Scholar Athlete award, while
Ashley Penshorn earns her third and
Grace Bell,
Charli Delmonico,
Maria Garcia,
Gabi Ioannou,
Alice Thane and
Marina Vigil all were named for the second time.
Senior
Jeremiah Sanchez has earned five straight Scholar Athlete awards for the men, while
Alex Gee was tabbed for the fourth time.
Leon Hein is the third multi-time award winner, grabbing his second-straight honor.
This is the 10
th consecutive season both the men's women's teams have been named to the ITA All-Academic team.
