RICHARDSON, Texas –
Megan Copeland and
Cameron Koerner earned a spot on the Lone Star Conference All-Conference team as the league announced its annual postseason awards on Tuesday.
Copeland and Koerner were anchors in the St. Mary's defense that saw tremendous improvements from the 2019 season to the 2020 spring season. In 2019 the Rattler defense gave up 35 goals in 18 matches. In 11 matches this season, St. Mary's gave up just 10 goals.
Koerner started all 11 games in net for the Rattlers and nearly cut her goals against average in half to 1.01. The junior made 49 saves in 101 shots face for an .831 save percentage. Koerner turned in two clean sheets on the season and recorded five victories.
Copeland started all 11 games and played 908 minutes. The junior recorded one goal on the season.
The all-conference nod is the first for both Copeland and Koerner.
In total, 48 student-athletes were recognized for their accomplishments during the Spring 2021 season.
