RICHARDSON, Texas – After finishing in the middle of the pack in the Lone Star Conference, the St. Mary's Volleyball team was rewarded for its highest-ever finish with three players named to the All-Conference teams.
Senior
Alissa Tolbert was named to the First Team, sophomore
Julia Aleman was an honorable mention selection and
Cali Nims was tabbed on the All-Freshman team.
Tolbert, an outside hitter from San Antonio, ranked fourth in the conference in total kills and attacks and was the only non-libero to rank in the top 15 in digs per set. She is one of only three players in St. Mary's history to record over 900 kills and digs each.
Aleman, also an outside hitter from San Antonio, was second on the team with 2.38 kills per set and had 2.64 per set against conference foes. She also recorded double digits in kills in 10 of the final 13 matches of the season.
Nims, a setter from Corpus Christi, is the lone setter named to the inaugural all-freshman squad and she tallied six double-doubles in assists and digs during the season. She averaged 5.51 assists and 2.14 digs per set.
The Rattlers finished the 2021 season with a 14-11 overall record and they were 8-9 in Lone Star play, earning the nine seed at the LSC Tournament, where they lost in the quarterfinals to UT Permian Basin.
