Alissa Tolbert was named the Defensive Player of the Week by the Lone Star Conference. The award is the first for Rattlers volleyball in the team's third season in the conference.
Tolbert, a senior from San Antonio and graduate of Marshall HS recorded a career-high 33 digs in the Rattlers 3-1 win at St. Edward's on Thursday evening. She also led the team with 17 kills for her 12th double-double of the year. Tolbert had 19 serves without an error and 38 receptions. St. Mary's trailed 1-0 in sets and was down 20-11 in the second before coming back to tie the set with a 27-25 win and they won the final two sets by the minimum two points for their 10th win of the year. She helped hold the Hilltoppers to a .067 hitting percentage and snap a five-match losing skid against SEU.
Tolbert and the Rattlers remain on the road, traveling to UAFS on Friday and Oklahoma Christian on Saturday.
