Men’s Tennis Opens 2020 Season at Midlothian Collegiate Championships

St. Mary's University will start their spring season in Midlothian, Texas at Midlothian High School. The Rattlers will take on the University of West Alabama and Ouachita Baptist University. 
 
Schedule:
Friday, February 7 at 1 P.M: StMU vs University of West Alabama
Saturday, February 8 at 1 P.M: StMU vs Ouachita Baptist University

About St. Mary's: St. Mary's are a part of the Lone Star Conference this season and will look to improve on last year's 7-13 record with new coaches Bill Macom and Chelsea Horan. The Rattlers will start the 2020 season ranked no. 5 in the South Central Region. In the 2019 fall season, doubles duo Jeremiah Gonzalez and Brendan Brown earned an impressive ranking of no. 10 in the nation after reaching the ITA Regional Championships. The Rattlers have introduced four new players to their roster for the 2020 season, freshman Sebastian Azcui, Marc Maciel and Daniel Gill and transfer graduate student Leon Hein
 
About University of West Alabama: The University of West Alabama start the 2020 season with an impressive national ranking of no. 16 and no. 5 in the South Region. They had a successful 2019 season going 16-7 overall. West Alabama have started the spring season strong with a 4-3 victory against Southern Mississippi and an 8-1 victory against Alabama State. Last year, West Alabama were defeated by the Rattlers 4-3. 
 
About Ouchita Baptist University: Ouchita Baptist University start the season ranked no.5 in the Central Region. They are currently 1-1 overall in the season after being defeated by Delta State University and taking a win over The University of Texas at Tyler. Last year, Ouchita Baptist University defeated the Rattlers 4-3.
