Baseball's Chris Ermis Promoted to Associate Head Coach

SAN ANTONIO – Chris Ermis has been promoted to associate head coach of the St. Mary's Baseball program, announced by Director of Athletics Rob Coleman at the 2020 First Pitch Social on Friday evening.

Chris obviously has been an important and valued member of our athletic department over the past 24 years and he has worked diligently to earn this title," said Director of Athletics Rob Coleman.  "I look forward to our continued work together for many years to come."

Ermis has seen his pitching staff name nine All-American pitchers, one National Pitcher of the Year, 12 All-Region pitchers and eight Heartland Conference Pitchers of the Year. He has also coached 45 pitchers who have been named All-Conference in the Heartland and Heart of Texas conferences.

"This announcement is long overdue and very deserving and I expect Charlie and Chris will continue to have great success together as we begin our transition into the Lone Star Conference," continued Coleman.

Ermis pitched for Migl and St. Mary's before being drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays organization. Ermis returned to St. Mary's to obtain his bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science and begin his coaching career.
