Six-run ninth not enough as Rattlers fall to Jaguars

SAN ANTONIO — Despite scoring six runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, the St. Mary's Rattlers fell to the Houston-Victoria Jaguars, 14-12, on Tuesday night at Dickson Stadium.

Four Rattlers posted multiple hits in the game, including Bryan Ramirez who brought the Rattlers within two in the bottom of the ninth with a clutch, two-out, bases clearing triple. He would finish the game 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Beau Barnes notched three hits in five at-bats with a pair of RBI and two runs scored as Zach Johnson produced two hits in two at-bats.

Jack Kaiser had a solid game at the plate with two hits of his own to go along with two RBI and a run scored.

The Rattlers will resume conference play when they head to the road to face Newman in a three-game series on Friday beginning at 3 p.m.
