Rattlers will host No. 4 seed WNMU

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Men's Tennis earned its first-ever No. 1 seeding in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional, the NCAA announced Tuesday night.

The No. 22-ranked Rattlers (17-6) will host No. 4 seed Western New Mexico (13-9), ranked 26th nationally, in the Region I bracket at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rohrbach Stadium.

St. Mary's, which defeated Western New Mexico 8-1 earlier this season, is eyeing its first-ever trip to the NCAA national championships. The winner of the regional match advances to the national stage.

This marks the second straight year — and the second time in program history — that the Rattlers have advanced to regional play.
