Rattlers strike early and often in 7-2 victory over Rollins

WINTER PARK, Florida — No. 23 St. Mary's Men's Tennis earned a bounce-back victory against No. 32 Rollins on Friday, cruising to a 7-2 road victory as part of their three-day stint in the Sunshine State.

The Rattlers (7-5) got off to a hot start by sweeping doubles play, as No. 1 Adam Dockery/Jeremiah Gonzalez, No. 2 Michael Maciel/Jose Antelo and No. 3 Alex Joseph/Bojan Popovic prevailed 8-4, 8-6 and 8-4, respectively.

St. Mary's clinched the match shortly thereafter, taking all but two of the singles matches to win 7-2.

Maciel won a tough, back-and-forth match at No. 1, defeating Patrick Sell 7-6 (6), 6-7 (4), 10-0. Gonzalez was also victorious at No. 2, beating Francesco Racanelli 7-5, 6-7 (5), 10-6. Rounding out the Rattler victories were Adam Dockery at No. 4 (6-3, 6-3) and Alex Joseph at No. 5 (6-3, 3-6, 6-3).

The Rattlers will return to action Saturday morning at 10 a.m., when they face off against Lynn in Boca Raton, Florida.
