#15 MSU holds off #23 Men's Tennis

SOUTHLAKE, Texas — No. 15 Midwestern State outlasted No. 23 St. Mary's Men's Tennis in a hotly contested battle, prevailing 6-3 Saturday afternoon.

St. Mary's got a point on the board when Bojan Popovic and Alex Joseph took No. 2 doubles 8-5, but trailed 2-1 heading into singles as the Mustangs took each of the other doubles matches by matching 9-7 scores.

Things were as tightly contested in singles, where five of the six matches went three sets.

Jeremiah Gonzalez and Adam Dockery won at No. 2 and 3, respectively, with Gonzalez winning 6-4, 3-6, 7-5, and Dockery taking his match 5-7, 6-4, 6-3.

The Rattlers will return to action on Saturday, March 4 when they host Southeastern Oklahoma State at 10 a.m. at Rohrbach Stadium.
