DALLAS — St. Mary's Men's Tennis made it two straight Heartland Conference wins in resounding fashion Saturday, as they defeated UA Fort Smith 9-0.

The dominating performance was the Rattlers 11th win of the season and arguably their most impressive. In doubles play, the Rattlers got off to a flying start.

In only their second match, No. 1's Adam Dockery and Richard Foley were victorious as they defeated Coleman and Manning 8-2. Michael Maciel and Jose Antelo stuck to winning ways as they also won at No. 2 with a score line of 8-1 over McCain and Anderson.

No. 3 Aldo Maldonado and Felix Hollaway rounded out doubles play with an 8-4 win to give the Rattlers a 3-0 lead heading into singles.

The momentum of the wins would carry over as the Rattlers cruised to six singles victories in straight sets. The most impressive of the afternoon came from No. 1 Maciel as he won 6-0, 6-0 over Coleman before his double partner Antelo won as well, 6-2, 6-4 over No. 3 Beach of UAFS. The winning ways continued as No. 2 Dockery defeated Manning 6-2, 6-3.

At No. 5, Aldo Maldonado had a tough test with Anderson, but the sophomore was able to come out on top as he won 6-4, 6-2. Hollaway and Foley would round out the shutout win as the freshman won against McCain 6-1, 6-1 and the latter was victorious as well, 6-2, 6-0, over Carvalho.

The win improved St. Mary's to 11-9 and the men will look to stay undefeated in conference play as they take on University of Texas-Permian Basin in Mason, Texas on Wednesday, April 13.
