Men's Tennis falls to No. 12 Cameron, 6-3

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — St. Mary's Men's Tennis lost to No. 12-ranked Cameron, snapping a three-match win streak on Saturday morning.

The match, which was played in New Braunfels due to inclement weather, was the Snakes' final test before heading into their season finale with Heartland Conference foe St. Edward's. St. Mary's now holds a 2-3 record against ranked opponents.

In the doubles portion, the Rattlers were able to force the issue with Adam Dockery and Richard Foley taking No. 1 doubles, 9-7. Unfortunately, the Snakes would drop No. 2 and 3, and trailed 1-2 overall heading into singles.

In singles, they were not able to avenge their doubles losses with numbers 1-3 suffering losses.

As consolation, No. 4 Aldo Maldonado and No. 6 Foley were able to salvage wins for the gold and blue in their respective matches.

With the loss, St. Mary's falls to 12-10 on the season. The men will look to get back to winning ways in their season finale Thursday at Rohrbach Stadium before heading to the conference tournament. The match will also serve as senior day to honor seniors Brien Galon, Luke Keller and Matt Banner.
