Rattlers fall to potent St. Cloud State attack, 14-10

HOUSTON — A four-run rally in the seventh inning wasn't enough for St. Mary's Baseball on Friday, as the Rattlers dropped a 14-10 contest to St. Cloud State. 

Reigning Heartland Conference Hitter of the Week Bryan Ramirez ignited the Rattlers' lineup with a 3-for-5 showing with four RBI and two runs scored, but it wasn't enough after St. Cloud State jumped to a 10-2 lead over the first five innings at the Houston Astros' Minute Maid Park. 

Jaryd Hodgson struck out four but was tagged with the loss after going 3 1/3 innings in the game.  

St. Mary's (2-2) had five doubles on the day, two of which were turned in by Ramirez. Four errors aided an already potent St. Cloud State attack, which produced 17 hits and one home run. The Rattlers had 13 hits in defeat. 

St. Mary's will get back at it Saturday morning, when it faces Henderson State at 10 a.m. at Minute Maid Park.
