Baseball opens season ranked No. 15 nationally by NCBWA

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Baseball opens the 2016 season ranked No. 15 nationally in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America's preseason poll.  

St. Mary's closed the 2015 season ranked No. 21 nationally after finishing as the South Central Region runner-up.  

The Rattlers rank third in the region behind Colorado Mesa (No. 3) and rival St. Edward's (No. 10). 

The season begins Friday with a three-game homestand against Arkansas Tech. The Rattlers get the series going with a single game at 3 p.m. Friday at Dickson Stadium. 

The series will be broadcast live online on the Rattler Network.
