StMU splits with SE and DBU, remains perfect in Heartland play

Ruben Dominguez | St. Mary's Athletics Communications

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Men's Tennis split its matches this past week against Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Dallas Baptist.

The Rattlers split the two matches, losing to SE 2-7 lat Thursday but bounced back to take the result over DBU 8-1 last Saturday.

The start to the weekend did not go as planned for the Rattlers.

In their loss to Southeastern Oklahoma, they dropped all three doubles matches for the first time this season with their lone two points coming at No. 1 and 2 singles from Michael Maciel (So., Sugar Land, Texas) and Adam Dockery ( So., Wichita Falls, Texas).

They rebounded accordingly and took a convincing win over conference opponent DBU on Saturday, winning all three doubles matches with the lone loss coming in a three-set affair at No. 3 singles.

The Snakes' record now stands at 4-3 on the season and they hold a 2-0 record in conference.

They will be in action over the spring break period as they welcome NCAA Division I opponent Liberty at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rohrbach Stadium.
