Men's Basketball drops exhibition opener vs. D-I TAMU-Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — St. Mary's Men's Basketball opened up the 2015-16 season with an exhibition game against Division I Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, falling 94-63 Saturday night.

Ed Seay had a team-high 16 points in his Rattler debut, while Kriston Minor added 14 on 5-of-12 shooting. Isaiah Parros, also a newcomer, had 10 points off the bench.

Point guard Bryce Smith had a team-best four assists, while newcomer Trey Hall led all Rattlers with five rebounds.

St. Mary's was outshot 54-to-40 percent, and outrebounded 31-26.

After getting outscored 53-24 in the first half, St. Mary's battled back in the second, losing the half 41-39.

St. Mary's will open the regular season at Colorado Mines on Friday, Nov. 13 in the Heartland-RMAC Shootout. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. (CT).
