League-leading UAFS defeats @StMUvolleyball

FORT SMITH, Ark. — St. Mary's Volleyball dropped a road Heartland Conference matchup against the league-leading UA Fort Smith Lions on Saturday, falling 3-0 at the Stubblefield Center.
 
UAFS (12-3, 7-0) prevailed 25-13, 25-9, 25-20.
 
St. Mary's (3-12, 1-6) was led offensively by Jenna Paul's six kills and .267 attack percentage. Freshman Maddy Walsh paced the squad with 14 assists, while Maddi King and Alexandria Guerrero led the way with nine digs apiece. Freshmen Ariana Flores and Channing Hankins added eight digs each.
 
UAFS outhit the Rattlers .269-.076, capitalizing on 15 Rattler errors to pull away. The Lions also excelled on the serve, registering nine service aces on the day to keep St. Mary's on its heels.
 
The Rattlers will be back in action Wednesday, when they travel to Denton, Texas to take on Texas Woman's at 6 p.m.
