Strong start for @StMUvolleyball not enough against Chaps

LUBBOCK, Texas — Thursday night, St. Mary's fell to Lubbock Christian in four sets in what was a spirited Heartland Conference affair.
 
Led by a team high 11 kills from Tarine Grace (So., San Antonio), the Rattlers rallied late in a close first game, winning 26-24. The Lady Chaps would respond by taking the next three enroute to their sixth conference victory.
 
Rachael Scicchitano (Jr., McKinney, Texas) had a team high 23 assists while Maddy Walsh (Fr., Arlington, Texas) added 19 assists of her own. At the net, Lauren Holman (Sr., Rowlett, Texas) notched four blocks to lead the Snakes as Tori Estrada (Sr., San Antonio) contributed 22 digs.
 
The Rattlers will look to bounce back Saturday when they travel to Texas-Permian Basin to take on the Falcons. Then, St. Mary's will return to the friendly confines of Bill Greehey Arena for the Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Match on Oct. 22.
