SAN ANTONIO — Two Rattlers forced a tiebreaker in the Division I matchup against University of Texas-San Antonio, as No. 29 Men's Tennis fell 7-0 to the Roadrunners Sunday.
Both
Bob Resink and
Brien Galon took their D-I opponents into extra sets with Resink playing as the Rattlers' No. 4 and Galon the No. 6.
Resink went into four sets with Diogo Casa, losing 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6) while Galon went three sets, 7-6, (10-5), 6-3.
The Rattlers' No. 1 and two-time Heartland Conference Player of the Week
Michael Maciel took two points off UTSA's No. 1 Yannick Junger while
Matt Banner contested well in the No. 5 spot, dropping 6-4 and 6-3.
All three Rattler duos in doubles were impressive, dropping 8-4, 8-5 and 8-6.
With the loss, the Rattlers are .500 on the season at 6-6.
St. Mary's plays its last home match of the season against Ouachita Baptist at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Rohrbach Stadium.
