KERRVILLE, Texas — The No. 48 St. Mary's women's tennis team continues to shine as the Lady Rattlers swept both singles and doubles matches for the second straight match, notching a 9-0 victory over Schreiner over the weekend.
The Lady Rattlers set the tone early, sweeping the doubles in dominating fashion with victories of 8-2, 8-0, and 8-2.
The St. Mary's women continued to roll over their opponents in singles, losing no more than three games in a single set.
Felicity Delgado (So., Universal City, Texas) set the tone by defeating Lauren Haynes 6-2, 6-0 in singles play after teaming with
Valentine Lambrechts (Jr., Andenne, Belgium) to defeat Haynes and Shelby Thompson 8-2 in doubles action.
“They came out here and executed well at every position,” St. Mary's assistant coach
Stephan Poole said.
St. Mary's Women's Tennis takes the court next against crosstown rival Trinity University at 3 p.m. Thursday at the St. Mary's Tennis Courts.
