SILVER CITY, N.M. — The St. Mary's University Women's Tennis team concluded its three-match road trip with another 7-0 sweep, defeating Western New Mexico for the second-straight day, though Saturday's match counted as a conference tilt.
With the win, the Rattlers improve to 10-6 and 3-0 in Lone Star Conference play, and win their fourth consecutive match, while the Mustangs move to 4-7 on the season and 1-1 in league action.
"This was a successful road trip for the women," said Director of Tennis
Bill Macom. "The past two matches were very competitive, and it was good to see all the freshmen step it up."
All three Rattlers doubles teams were victorious, winning 6-3, 6-4 and 6-2 on courts one through three, respectively.
The singles players carried the momentum over from doubles play, with all six winning in straight sets.
Senior
Gia Posito (Houston) didn't lose a single game at line five to keep her undefeated in LSC play and extended her winning streak to four matches.
Freshman
Sarah Wooten (Beaumont, Texas) only lost one game in each set for the 6-1, 6-1 victory on court six.

Junior
Janel Ospanova (Karaganda, Kazakhstan) finished third, giving her the clinching point for the Rattlers. Ospanova flipped Olsson's scores, winning 6-0 in the first set and then needing a late break of serve for a 7-5 win in the second set.
