SAN ANTONIO — The St. Mary's University Softball team dropped a doubleheader to two-time defending National Champions UT Tyler on Sunday at The Park at StMU, losing 7-4 and 9-1.
The Rattlers move to 18-15 overall and 10-10 in Lone Star Conference play, while the Patriots improve to 25-7 on the year and 17-3 in LSC action.
The Oklahoma teams are up next on the Rattlers' docket, as they face No. 12 Oklahoma Christian on Friday and Cameron on Sunday. The Eagles split a series at Western New Mexico on Sunday, while the Aggies swept Sul Ross State.
GAME ONE RECAP
St. Mary's scored its four runs on nine hits in the first game and attempted to complete the comeback, plating three runs in the bottom of the seventh, but came up short.

Ariella Saenz (Pharr, Texas) surrendered three runs on eight hits with one walk and one strikeout in five innings of work, while junior
Emery Aguilar (Georgetown, Texas) gave up three earned runs on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts in two innings in the circle.
GAME TWO RECAP
The Rattlers scored one run in the first inning but were unable to mount a rally the rest of the way, falling 9-1 in five innings.
