EDMOND, Okla. — The St. Mary's University Softball team snapped a seven-game losing skid with a thrilling 2-1 win at No. 12 Oklahoma Christian on Saturday afternoon before falling 18-1 in the second game of the doubleheader.
The Rattlers are now 19-16 on the season and 11-11 in Lone Star Conference play, while the Eagles move to 27-7 overall and 19-5 in league action.
Trailing 1-0 in the second inning of game one, senior Reagan Tennill (Corpus Christi, Texas) won a 10-pitch at bat with a double up the middle that rolled all the way to the fence. After a circle visit by the Eagles, senior
Gabriela Banda (San Antonio) sent a no-doubter way over the fence in left centerfield for the 2-1 score, and that score held for the next 3 1/2 innings.

Ariella Saenz (Pharr, Texas) pitched a gem against LSC Preseason Pitcher of the Year Jill Dickson as both hurlers tossed complete games. Saenz improved to 8-5 on the season as she surrendered only one run on four hits, striking out two and not walking a single batter. Dickson also allowed four hits, walking five and striking out seven as she dropped to 13-4 on the year. Saenz and

The Eagles' offense exploded for 18 runs on 15 hits and drew eight walks in game two. The Rattlers scored one run in the fourth, when Saenz hit a sacrifice fly deep to centerfield, scoring Banda from third. Senior
Abigail Dela Rosa (La Grange, Texas) was 2-for-2 in the game, but was stranded on base both times.
St. Mary's remains in Oklahoma for a Sunday doubleheader at Cameron. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1 p.m. The Aggies swept St. Edward's on Friday.
